We want everyone to be able to use Music Video Wizard. This page covers this website and the Music Video Wizard desktop app: the standard we aim for, what we know still falls short, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
This website
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We check it with automated testing and by hand. It currently:
- has text with enough contrast against the background to read comfortably;
- can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are;
- uses headings, lists and page regions that screen readers can navigate;
- gives images text descriptions and form fields labels;
- works on phones and when zoomed in, without scrolling sideways.
Some parts are provided by other companies and follow their own accessibility practices: the video on the home page (YouTube), payment (Stripe) and our community server (Discord).
The desktop app
Music Video Wizard is a visual video editor, and some of it is not yet accessible to everyone. In particular:
- arranging clips on the timeline relies on dragging with a mouse or trackpad;
- the app has not been tested with screen readers, and many controls may not be announced clearly;
- previews and some effects include flashing and fast-moving images.
Many actions have keyboard shortcuts, listed in the user manual, and Shuffle can build a whole edit without any dragging. We are working to improve the app, and reports from people who use assistive technology help us decide what to fix first.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this website or in the app is hard or impossible for you to use, please email support@musicvideowizard.com with “Accessibility” in the subject. Tell us the page or feature, what happened, and the device and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within a few business days, and we can send any information on this website in another format if you need it.
